Training Shivirs & Other Shivirs

Residential and day-long camps for deeper learning, training and fellowship. These Shivirs combine structured sessions with the spirit of collective living — sometimes in the locality, sometimes at places like Dehradun that offer both training and a change of environment.

What are Training Shivirs?

Training Shivirs and other Shivirs organised by Bheem Gyan Charcha Association are multi-day programmes (usually 1 to 5 days) designed for deeper learning, skill-building and strengthening of brotherhood among participants. Unlike the one-day Bheem Gyan Charcha, a Shivir allows time for multiple focused sessions, discussion, practice and collective living.

Shivirs may be held in the local area or at a distance location such as Dehradun or other suitable places. When organised away from the usual surroundings, the programme naturally serves two purposes — serious training and a healthy change of environment (a form of simple tourism). Participants learn, live together, share meals and return with both knowledge and stronger bonds.

Family, Children & the Tour Aspect

Participants often come with their family and children. This is welcomed, especially when the Shivir is held at a distance location that also offers a change of environment.

Important distinction: Only dedicated participants who have registered for training take part in the formal lecture and training sessions. Other accompanying family members and children are free to enjoy the tour, the place and the collective atmosphere without attending the training sessions.

In short: Training sessions are for those who enrol for training. Accompanying family members and children can enjoy the tour and stay while the dedicated participants attend the sessions. This keeps the training focused and still allows families to travel and experience the place together.

Nature of Sessions

Each Shivir is structured with various sessions dedicated to specific themes. These may include lectures on the life and work of Babasaheb Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and other social reformers, study of constitutional values, discussion on Buddhism and social philosophy, practical training for organising programmes, communication skills, leadership development, and open dialogue among participants.

The exact schedule is announced for each Shivir. The emphasis is always on clarity, mutual respect and useful learning that participants can carry into their work and community life.

Purpose of Shivirs

Training Shivirs and other Shivirs serve several important purposes for BGCA and its participants:

1
Training of members Equip members with knowledge, skills and confidence to conduct programmes and outreach work.
2
Brotherhood & fellowship Living and learning together builds strong bonds of mutual respect and collective spirit.
3
Deeper learning More time than a one-day programme allows for focused study, discussion and reflection.
4
Training + change of environment When held at places like Dehradun, the Shivir combines serious training with a healthy break.
5
Open to approved participants Members and non-members can join after approval, widening the circle of learning.
6
Family-friendly travel Accompanying family and children can enjoy the tour while dedicated participants attend training.

Who Can Participate

Both members of Bheem Gyan Charcha Association and non-members may participate in Training Shivirs and other Shivirs. Participation is subject to approval by the organising team so that numbers, logistics and the learning atmosphere can be managed properly.

How to join: When a Shivir is announced, interested persons can apply through the registration form. You can register yourself for training and also add accompanying family members / children who will only join for the tour and stay. Approval and payment details (on no-profit basis) are communicated before the programme.
